Mission Statement
To enable all citizens of our community to improve their quality of life by providing opportunities for life-long learning and recreational experiences.
The Princeton Public Library had its beginning as the Princeton Library Association in 1881. The library consisted of one room and was for members only. In 1883, the library became public. In 1903, Andrew Carnegie was contacted for money regarding a new library building. In 1905, the current library location opened as a Carnegie Library. In 2004, the library was awarded a Community Block Development Grant that allowed adding an elevator, creating a handicap entrance on the south side, and a major upgrade to the heating/air system. In 2006, the Princeton Public Library celebrated the completion of the restoration projects and 101 years in the Carnegie Building. The library continuously searches for ways to meet the changing needs of the public!
